Serena Hung

Serena Hung, MD, Chief Medical Officer

As Head of Clinical Development, Serena applies the latest scientific insights, cutting edge clinical trial methodologies and input from patient and caregiver communities to create the best plan to demonstrate the efficacy of Arkuda’s compounds while gaining a thorough understanding of their safety profiles. She is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training in movement disorders. Serena has more than 15 years of clinical research experience spanning both industry and academia, including in leadership roles directing Phase 1 through Phase 3 clinical development and successful BLA/NDAs. She is an expert in multiple CNS-related diseases including Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, Huntington’s disease, dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), ataxia and multiple sclerosis. Prior to joining Arkuda, Serena was Senior Director of Neurology at WAVE Life Sciences, where she was the clinical development lead for all CNS programs. She previously led clinical development efforts for Biogen’s movement disorders programs and was Associate Professor of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Serena received an MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
